On June 14th, the ARIZONA@WORK Pinal County Career Expo was held at Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino in Maricopa. The Expo, attended by over 280 career seekers, blended an offering of career-focused workshops offered all day at no cost as well as a job fair in the afternoon..
The workshops, provided through Career Connectors, covered topics such as interviewing, resume building, as well as how to utilize LinkedIn best. Financial counselors were also made available for private consultations on how best to manage personal finances during a career transition. In addition to these offerings, attendees were also afforded the opportunity to have questions related to Unemployment Insurance (UI) answered directly by UI representatives.
Attendees took advantage of an onsite Business Resource Center where ARIZONA@WORK Pinal County staff assisted them in registering into the Arizona Job Connection, a statewide job board and resource system. A resource table provided information on a host of ARIZONA@WORK Pinal County services that were also made available.
The job fair allowed career seekers to meet and interview with 38 employers representing a wide variety of employment opportunities. Anyone interested in learning more about the services offered by ARIZONA@WORK Pinal County is encouraged to click here.
