Career Connectors Announces Four New Board Members for 2023

PHOENIX, Ariz. – Career Connectors announced today the appointment of four new members to the board of directors; Mattie Cummins, Kevin Dumcum, Doris Savron, and Robert Stenson. This brings the number of board members to 12.
Linda Luman, Board President, “I am thrilled with the level of talent and quality of character in the people that have chosen to serve on the Career Connectors Board of Directors. Mattie brings in a unique level of understanding in the mental health and social services space, an area we need to better understand to serve our communities. Kevin is a force for the workforce with a unique understanding of the collaboration needs within Arizona to help people succeed in navigating career change or loss. Doris has a passion in utilizing all forms of education to raise people out of poverty and help communities thrive – she has a unique understanding of the strong connection of workforce needs and education. Rob has been a long-time supporter of Career Connectors, he has a deep understanding of the government workforce systems and how education creates future opportunities. These 4 new members along with our extremely talented and committed 8 current members will help us achieve our new strategic plan and serve our community.”
Mattie Cummins, LCSW, is a counselor, coach and the owner of Cerebrations LLC. She has over 25 years of experience in social work, counseling and coaching for people with anxiety, chronic pain, neurodiversity, and other life transitions. She has her bachelor’s and master’s degree in social work and varied experience in nonprofit leadership and has a gift for helping people tap into their own inner strength, beauty, and experiences to calm their internal chaos.
Kevin Dumcum is the director for regional workforce development for WESTMARC. Prior to that, he spent seven years as a business services representative and business services team supervisor for Maricopa County Human Services Department. He’s a graduate of the University of Minnesota and in addition to stints at a couple local-area nonprofit organizations, he’s also had a long career as an account executive and data analyst for a global market research company.
Doris Savron is the Vice Provost- Colleges, Assessment, and Curriculum at University of Phoenix. Her career spans over 30 years in healthcare, information technology and academia. She holds a master of business administration from Cleveland State University and is completing her doctorate in management in organizational leadership from University of Phoenix. She works collaboratively with her team members to innovate academic solutions that enable the University to provide exceptional students experiences and learning environments.
Robert Stenson is the Director of Business & Governmental Affairs at the University of Jamestown. He’s an experienced sales, operations, workforce development, and education leader that disentangles the reasons for low performance. He received his BBA from Wisconsin Lutheran College, his MBA from Cardinal Stritch University, and his Ed.D in Organizational Leadership from Grand Canyon University. He’s an advocate for building the indomitable spirit in others by identifying programs and processes that increase intrinsic motivation.
