The MINDset Game™

10/14/21 -The MINDset Game®: How to Master Your MINDset to Land Your Next Job

November 1, 2021 by Sheila

How do they do it? It seems they lose a job and the next day she has a new one? What are they doing that I’m not? This is a normal question for thousands of job seekers. They see others successfully making strides towards their career goals. Yet others fail! What are the secret ingredients to their success? The game changer is called MindSet!

Vered Kogan Mindset

Career Connectors welcomed Vered Kogan to present, “Master Your Mindset to Land Your Next Job!” The first step to Master Your Mindset is to accept change is inevitable. As humans we can always expect to witness change. Even though change is stressful and unsettling. It might seem difficult, but it’s important to release mental and emotional blocks that may be getting in your way. So, it’s important to identity the blocks to change. The practice of evidence-based tools to allow your head and heart to work together in harmony or coherence can be a healthier to tap into your intuitive guidance to make decisions with ease, even during uncertainty. The practice starts with a simple technique that takes less than a minute. There are hundreds of published articles indicating the practice by labeling your emotions. This technique is to help individuals adapt with ease to current situations. This practice begins with three deep breaths in and out and then label your emotions. As you listen to your body and say out loud, “I hear you” and “I understand you”. Then write down your emotions. The goal is to make the connection between your heart and head. As you do this it will make a difference. When positive emotions are felt it enables coherent and resilient emotions and thoughts. Emotions are like a roller coaster – flying up down and move in circles. This happens overtime starting with denial, shock/confusion, anger/blame/defensive strolling onto uncertainty/fear/frustration, and then it moves up to understanding, some optimism, and final change, acceptance, and excitement. The breath exercise will assist you are you make transitions in your life. The exercise will assist you in creating your future through your thoughts, emotions, and actions. As your brain and heart moving in unison it will assist you in making decisions and finding your dream job.

03/24/20 – The MINDset Game™

Keynote

The MINDset Game™
Vered Kogan

Written by: Debbie Adkins

Vered Kogan

There is a simple technique called Quick Coherence® “Quick Coherence Technique” from Heart Math Institute that you can practice to help you build your resilience and effectively manage stress during this difficult and uncertain time. Vered started our webinar by leading us through this technique.

Vered introduced participants to The MINDset Game™, a revolutionary concept that can change the way you see the world and how you respond to situations in your life. It can help you to rewire negative or limiting thought patterns so that you can feel more positive and release the resistance to change.

She explained the typical change process that people go through when experiencing a transition and shared the science behind how our thoughts and emotions impact our results.

She then discussed that life is like a maze- full of twists and turns that prevent you from seeing more than a few feet ahead. By playing The MINDset Game™ deliberately, you can leverage the incredible power of your subconscious mind to access the ideas, intuition, and motivation that will guide you to taking the next right step in the “maze” so that you can avoid potential pitfalls and dead ends and experience more joy.

At any moment, you are either focusing on positive thoughts- positive mindsets- that move you closer or “warmer” to what you want. Or, you are focusing on negative thoughts- negative mindsets that are moving you further away- or “colder”- from what you want. And, most of us are not actually aware of our habitual thoughts or beliefs because we are creating our life out of a series of automatic subconscious programs.

When you deliberately focus on positive empowering thoughts, your subconscious mind will help you access the ideas and resources to create what you want. On the other hand, if you habituality focus on negative mindsets like, “I can’t do this”, “this is taking too long”, “I’m not good enough”, or “I’m not worthy”, you are essentially choosing to move away from what you want. This is because your powerful subconscious mind- that part of you that controls your body and almost all of your mental power- will take those thoughts as a command and limit you from achieving what you want.
“You can create your desired future by consciously moving toward what you want”. Do this by:

  • Decide what you are searching for and why. Your subconscious mind likes specificity.
  • Tune in to your emotions to identify whether you are moving toward or away from what you want.
  • Any time you notice that you are moving away from what you want, shift your focus. See handout for a few questions and a tool that you can practice to shift your thoughts, emotions, and behavior.
  • Stay persistent and resilient until you achieve your goals.

At the end of the webinar, Vered offered participants the opportunity to access an online course containing videos and exercises to help them master their mindset (valued at $97). Here is the link if you’d like to sign up for her monthly e-Newsletter and receive this free course: https://veredkogan.com/careerconnectors/
Here is the handout that contains the basic “rules” of The MINDset Game™:

Vered invited us to join her new Facebook Group, “The MINDset Game™” to access daily tips, techniques and inspiration to help you master your mindset and resilience. Here’s the URL: https://www.facebook.com/groups/TheMINDsetGame/

In closing, The MINDset Game™ is a great way to think and act in this now crazy world. Just try it daily and you will see!

I’ve attended a few of your events in Gilbert and Scottsdale since returning to AZ and being an active job seeker. I’m happy to report that I’ve been offered a job! I’m over the moon about the offer and couldn’t be more grateful after a long, three month search (that definitely felt much longer…. 🙂 ). I want to thank you for your programs. You have excellent speakers who always energized me when I was needing it most. And your resume reviewer was great. She was a tough cookie with a red pen y… Read more

I own a Leadership Company, and have enjoyed attending the Career Connector events. With gratitude I listen to the speakers you line up… they offer phenominal and practical information. What has struck me each time has been the audience. My heart hurts for them. They are in a desperate place in their lives. I have had the opportunity speak with a few of the people in attendance, and they have shared their stories… I walk away thankful to God for the opportunity to meet these people and they … Read more

I believe in the Career Connectors mission and continue to volunteer as a way of expressing my appreciation for their support during a very tough time…thank you Career Connectors!

I just wanted to reach out to you and say Thank you to you, Career Connectors and the whole Team! So let me explain why, while I’ve known of Career Connectors for many years, I never thought that I would need employment services or guidance before. On September 19th 2019 I found myself being let go from my job. I later the next day saw the Career Connectors event at Central Christian Church Gilbert Campus coming up on Facebook and signed up for it. While attending my first Career Connectors even… Read more

When I was laid off last year from the company I’d worked with for over 14 years, I actually found I had an even BIGGER job ahead of me. With an outdated resume, no interview skills, and a huge feeling of displacement, I went searching for help. Career Connectors was my savior. The program and its’ leaders were instrumental in rebuilding my confidence, providing the necessary tools and resources, and ultimately responsible for my landing a great position with a company that was featured at o… Read more

Thank you for all you do! I’ve been nine loooong months looking for a full-time position and Career Connectors was a real life-line. I was pretty discouraged by the time I found your organization on-line and first visited. The speaker provided some great information but most importantly, encouragement and hope. The panel discussion on resumes was incredibly helpful! Last month I had the opportunity to sit with Brenda and she suggested I really pare back all but the last 10 years of experience an… Read more
